The Write Thing

August 16, 2011

The first time I realized that I wanted to write children’s books was in elementary school, when ‘Take Your Daughter to Work Day’ quickly became ‘Type Stories on Dad’s Typewriter While He Makes Phone Calls Regarding Truckloads of Vinegar Day.’  The second time I realized that I wanted to write children’s books was last year.

I spent too long ignoring the itch to write, whether for fear of failure or lack of time.  This year I decided to give writing the ‘right of way’ in my life – to prioritize making time and creating emotional space to write.  As I delve into my writing journey, I want to share with you my work, my learning, my challenges and my triumphs.  Perhaps you will even be inspired in your own journey, whether that journey is writing or something completely different.  Think of this as ‘Take Your Blog-Reader to Work Day.’

  1. Thanks, Christie! Thanks for checking it out. It was great meeting you at the conference this weekend. I just swung by your blog AND your website. Very impressive – looks like you keep yourself busy! I especially love that you play ‘Pass the Paper’ on your blog – great idea. 🙂
